Reba McEntire delivers swift justice (and a gavel to the head!) in the first trailer for the Lifetime original movie The Hammer.
As previously reported, the project reunites McEntire with Reba costar Melissa Peterman. The made-for-tv film is inspired by the life of traveling circuit judge Kim Wanker, and casts McEntire as Kim Wheeler, “an outspoken, firecracker lawyer who is appointed Judge of the 5th District of Nevada,” and Peterman as Kim’s sister Kris, the local brothel owner (!) who becomes a prime suspect in the murder of Kim’s predecessor (!!). As a result, Kim is forced to “work even...

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are teaming up with their oldest son Michael for an upcoming “Ripped from the Headlines” Lifetime movie.
Michael will star alongside Jenna Dewan in the film, titled “Let’s Get Physical.” It follows Dewan as a fitness instructor named Sadie who taught fitness and dance to soccer moms by day, but by night led a double life running a sophisticated prostitution ring with a customer list that included very prominent men in the community. After an anonymous tip, authorities raided her studio, leading to Sadie’s indictment and ignited a firestorm in the small town leading everyone to ask, who exactly was on the client list.
Jennifer Irwin also stars. Ripa and Consuelos will executive produce under their Milojo Productions banner as part of the previously announced partnership with Lifetime. Dewan will also executive produce.
This is, of course, not the first time Michael has worked with his parents.

Motörhead have dropped a previously unreleased live version of “The Hammer,” which will appear on the upcoming 40th anniversary reissue of their first live album, No Sleep ’Til Hammersmith, out June 25th.
This version of “The Hammer” — which Motörhead tear through in all their ragged, raw and pulverizing glory — comes from their March 30th, 1981 concert concert at Newcastle City hall in Newcastle, England. While a handful of tracks from that show made it on to the original No Sleep ’Til Hammersmith, the new reissue marks the first time the concert...

Adam Carolla first entered my consciousness when he served as co-host of the MTV talk show Loveline which dispensed wit and wisdom to America's youth in the late 1990s. Since then, he's done a lot of shows in which he's appeared as himself, and voiced a number of roles in animated ventures, but I believe Road Hard is his first lead performance in a feature film since 2007's The Hammer. He and Kevin Hench wrote the original screenplay and directed the comedy, which follows a stand-up comic who goes back on the road to provide for his daughter after he experiences a costly divorce and loses his television show. In an exclusive clip, the comic (Carolla, of course) tries to check out of a hotel...

Exclusive: Last year’s American Film Market keynote speaker Adam Carolla is returning after successfully crowdfunding $1.4 million for his first film in seven years, with the semi-autobiographical comedy in post and a message to studios and financiers: “I just made a movie without you assholes, and it will be better than 92% of the shit Hollywood cranks out,” he said via phone from his Glendale headquarters. “I’m standing in my own studio – because of what? Because of CBS, because of Sony, because someone let me do this? I don’t need any of these assholes.”
Carolla admits his outspoken past and accusations of homophobia and misogyny might have turned off traditional investors. “Did the way you acted at the last party affect your invite to the next party? I can’t tell what I’ve missed out on,” he said. “I’m tired of dealing with the networks. I don’t think it’s helped,...

Of all the people to join in on the crowdfunded movie craze that most notably produced the Veronica Mars movie and Zach Braff.s second feature I Wish I Was Here, Adam Carolla is nowhere near the top of that list. But that.s exactly who.s doing it. Adam Carolla, who has a regular segment on The O.Reilly Factor. I.ll have to say it a few more times to see if it gets any easier, or makes me care a little more. Carolla, whose last screenwriting credit was also his first one, for 2007.s The Hammer, is looking to follow that up with Road Hard, a film for which he is seeking money through FundAnything. The potential film has raised $210,000 already with 43 days still left to go in the campaign. Road Hard, a comedy about a stand-up comic who.s trying to get off of the road,...

We start the Top 7. You finish the Top 10.
Warrior (starring Tom Hardy, Joel Edgerton and Nick Notle) is not a boxing movie. I know it’s Mma (Mixed Martial Arts). So why on Earth am I writing a Top 7 about boxers one week after Warrior failed to excite audiences at the box office? Wow. Great question. I’ll try to answer that. 1) If this article gets you excited about seeing someone punch someone else (in a movie) then maybe you’ll go see Warrior, which I totally think you should. 2) When I was watching Warrior I wasn’t comparing it kickboxing movies (Bloodsport), or films that have a lot of fighting in them (Fight Club). I kept going back and comparing them to the drama of boxing films. While I realize Tommy (Hardy) could potentially destroy anyone on this list, I’m still going to make it. Keep in mind,...

Wil Wheaton summed up the reactions of gamers everywhere today when 2K Games revealed at the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle that a playable version of the epically delayed game "Duke Nukem Forever" would be playable for the show.
Others in Twitter-Wood were more concerned with movies, which is appropriate since that's where they make their money. Kristen Bell has been prodding at her followers to tell Warner Bros. they want to see a "Veronica Mars" movie, Ashton Kutcher checked out the "Family Guy" take on "Return of the Jedi," and Rainn Wilson discussed a remake of "The Rocker." Check out what he'd like to do with that down below and see who's going to a midnight screening of "Machete."

BET has acquired broadcast rights to "Dough Boys," the debut film from Preston Whitmore's Give Back Raise Up Program, through which he finances and produces low-budget pictures showcasing newcomers in front of and behind the camera.
The film's first screening will be Feb. 5 at Laemmle Theatre. Paramount Home Video will distribute the DVD.
"It's hard to find someone that'll believe in you enough to put money up to back your dreams," first-time director Nicholas Harvell said. "Preston didn't just talk about it, he did it."
The film, which follows four troubled youths and the poor choices they make in the inner city, was penned by Wilmore. It stars Arlen Escarpeta ("Friday the 13th"), Cory Hardrict ("Gran Torino" "He's Just Not That Into You"), Maurice McRae ("The King") and Lorenzo Eduardo ("The Hammer"), Wood Harris ("The Wire") and Sticky Fingaz ("Blade, "Doing Hard Time").

A sequel to Waiting... (No cover art is available yet for the sequel) appropriately titled Still Waiting... is in post-production, and will likely be a direct-to-disc affair for early next year.
What surprised me more than the fact that a sequel to Waiting... was being made was how much of the cast from the original movie is listed in the credits for this one. Justin Long, Vanessa Lengies, Luis Guzmán, Andy Milonakis, Rob Benedict and Alanna Ubach are all credited, not to mention several others. And on top of that, two more big names have been added to that list - hopefully their roles are fittingly large in Still Waiting...
Tania Raymonde of Lost (Finally an excuse to post a picture or two of Tania!) and Adam Carolla of The Hammer are credited in Still Waiting...
Some may scoff at the direct-to-disc business model, but it always makes money for those involved,...

Comedy Central has inked a multipicture deal with the Weinstein Co. for the first-window broadcast premiere rights to a trio of films, including Kevin Smith's upcoming "Zack and Miri Make a Porno."
The deal also includes the first-window rights to December's "Extreme Movie," which stars Ryan Pinkston, Michael Cera, Christina DeRosa, Frankie Muniz and Jamie Kennedy, and "The Hammer," starring Adam Carolla. "Porno," opening Oct. 31, stars Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks.
As part of the agreement, Comedy also acquired second-window rights to November's "Soul Men," starring Samuel L. Jackson and Bernie Mac, and "Who's Your Caddy?" starring Big Boi.
"The films in this package feature a great array of today's hottest comedians," Comedy senior vp programming David Bernath said.
David Spiegelman, president of domestic TV and distribution at Twc, said the movies in the package are "perfectly suited" for Comedy's viewers.

Nobody expects greatness from Adam Carolla, the wisecracking second banana on two of the more noxious television programs of the past decade: The Man Show and Loveline. Heck, people barely expect adequacy from the veteran radio personality. So at least some of the positive buzz surrounding his feature-film vehicle The Hammer seems attributable to low expectations. Like its hard-luck title character, the ramshackle comedy boasts the element of surprise. The Hammer sure doesn't look like much on paper: a television journeyman and novice actor leading a no-name cast in a low-budget comic variation on the tried-and-true Rocky formula.
