Is the Doctor in time to save Romana from being sacrificed by the Swampie's god Kroll? The Swampie's are aware of the dry foots plan to attack them, gun runner Rohm Dutt has advised them to split up and escape the attack. Something bizarre is happening under the sea beds as they're shifting, and we glimpse the enormous Kroll. The dryfoots consider dropping charges on Kroll in order to destroy it. Rohm Dutt is unmasked as a rogue.
I hate the way Romana's character has gone, she's become a meek, 60's screaming girly, she's started back so well in Ribos, as a definite equal to the Doctor, all that's seemingly gone.
Tom gets away with quite a few liberties in this one and puts in quite a lot of 'humour.' In some of the instances it just feels a bit unnecessary, it works better when there's a threat.
Sad to say the second part has dipped a fair bit from the first, it's a very average episode, not helped by the rubber tentacle at the end. It's actually quite boring.
