"Name one genius that ain't crazy?"
That line, off the song "Feedback" from Kanye West's The Life of Pablo album, has become something of a rallying cry for ardent fans of the 39-year-old's music, who find themselves time and time again having to confront his antics -- from bizarre rants to controversial proclamations.
While he's certainly a lightning rod for both sides of the public opinion spectrum, "Yeezy being Yeezy" is something many have come to love about the larger-than-life star.
Exclusive: Kim Kardashian 'Terrified' After Kanye West's Hospitalization: He 'Hasn't Been Himself in a While'
Still, it's hard for the support not to turn to concern when West's off-kilter antics give way to increasingly erratic behavior and onstage rants, the abrupt cancellation of more than 20 Saint Pablo tour dates, and ultimately, his hospitalization -- as the Lapd confirmed to Et on Monday.

After a week of making headlines for a very public feud with Kanye West, Amber Rose put the drama aside to stand by ex Wiz Khalifa at his album listening party. Rose, who split from the rapper in September 2014, shared a photo with Khalifa from the New York City event to Instagram, Wednesday, writing, "Supporting Sebastian's Dad at his #Khalifa Album Listening Party." The couple share a son, Sebastian Taylor, 2 this month, who they welcomed just a few months before getting married in July 8, 2013. Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa have put their social media squabble behind them. "I would never go out of my way to disrespect anybody," Khalifa said Wednesday on DJ Whoo Kid's Whooly-wood Shuffle on SiriusXM. Last week, the rapper Tweeted a seemingly innocent post about marijuana, using one of its street-names, "kk," which West saw and misconstrued as a disrespectful Tweet about his wife, Kim Kardashian West. Seemingly enraged, West went on a long-winded rant on the site, throwing insults at Khalifa, even mentioning his ex-wife (Amber Rose, whom West once dated) and their son, Sebastian, who turns 2 this month.

At Sundance I had the opportunity to moderate a Spotlight on Women Directors panel featuring four prominent women in documentaries: Rory Kennedy ("Last Days in Vietnam"), Lucy Walker ("The Lion's Mouth Opens"), Chicken & Egg's Judith Helfand ("Everything's Cool") and Shola Lynch ("Free Angela and All Political Prisoners"). These demanding filmmakers share how sexism has impacted their work, how they pick their stories, when to kill an idea when it isn't good enough, and how to decide when their films are finished. Sundance Now programmer Thom Powers introduced the lively discussion, below. ...

They are the shock troops in the city's battle against endemic street violence – peacemakers who once lived by the gun. As a documentary on their work reaches cinemas, we visit Chicago to see the campaigners in action
On the stoop of a house on a dilapidated block in Englewood, the south side Chicago neighbourhood that tops the city's statistics for murder, drug addiction, teen pregnancy and most of other indices of social dysfunction, are eight young African-American men and two or three women. It's an oven-hot summer afternoon and the group is kicking back, drinking, shouting and laughing.
"I don't like crowd scenes," says Shango, a member of the city's anti-violence project, CeaseFire, as we pull up outside. He explains that such gatherings increase the chances of becoming a victim of a drive-by shooting.

Hi everyone,
Hope you had a great week. Thanks for voting for us!
I just want to get this out of the way: Everything's cool with Carrie Ann. She's passionate and I'm passionate. We made up afterward. Everything's back to normal. I never expected it to get blown up like it did, but I guess it was like, "reality drama"! We talked after the show and everything's great now. The post-mortem is that ...

Oh Snap! Joanna's Ultra Halloween Bloodmoon Vampire Extravaganza Party is tomorrow night and you still haven't gotten your righteous costume together! You decided weeks ago that you were going to be a shining beacon of individualism at the party by dressing up as a non-'Twilight Saga' vampire, but you got so caught up in seasonal activities like apple picking and witch burning that you totally forgot to think of one! Now you're so stressed out about it that the only costumes you can think of are "ghost" and "Patrick Swayze from 'Ghost,'" but one of those is too easy to mess up and you don't own a maroon button down to make the other one work! Curse Your Forgetfulness!
It's okay, calm down. Everything's cool. The MTV Movies Blog has got your back. Film history is littered with literal hundreds of bloodsucking, sun-fearing fiends. We're going to help...

Everything's Cool
City Lights Pictures
NEW YORK -- Less about global warming than the politics of global warming, Daniel B. Gold and Judith Helfand's documentary simultaneously induces feelings of hopefulness and dread.
Chronicling the efforts of individuals and organizations to spread the word about potentially disastrous climactic change, Everything's Cool still somehow manages to exude a lighthearted air, thanks in no small part to its breezy animated segments created by Jeremiah Dickey and Emily Hubley.
The episodic film concentrates on such figures as activist Bill McKibben, the author of The End of Nature, seen organizing a grass-roots demonstration; Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Ross Gelbspan, a longtime writer on the subject who has become increasingly pessimistic about solving the problem in time; and authors Michael Shellenberger and Ted Nordhaus, who shook up the environmental movement considerably with their controversial essay The Death of Environmentalism.
Also profiled are some rather more tangential personalities, including Weather Channel climatologist Dr. Heidi Cullen, who is seen being made to make her gloomy reports more accessible; and Bish Neuhouser, a Utah ski resort snow groomer on a campaign to convert his vehicles to bio-diesel fuel.
The film also touches on such recent controversies as the censorship of recent government papers on the topic by Philip Cooney, the recently resigned head of the White House's Council on Environmental Quality who previously worked as a lobbyist for the oil industry.
Cool ultimately lacks the necessarily sharp focus to make its points with full effectiveness, and segments like the one devoted to the Hollywood climate change disaster movie The Day After Tomorrow are more trivial than enlightening. While the film offers plenty of food for thought along the way, it's hard not to wish that it contained more nutritional value.

Fresh label heats up 'Cool'
NEW YORK -- City Lights Pictures and Green Owl Prods. are forming City Lights Pictures/Green Owl, a new environmentally oriented entertainment label with features distributed through Warner Music Group's WEA Corp.
Green Owl, a division of Green Owl Music, also signed a deal giving the City Lights Media Group division first-look rights to distribute its future film projects and partner on development of TV programs and features.
The new label's first venture is the 2007 Sundance Film Festival entry Everything's Cool: A Toxic Comedy About Global Warming. Daniel B. Gold and Judith Helfand's documentary, produced by Toxic Comedy Pictures and Lupine Films in association with Netflix's Red Envelope Entertainment, will bow in November in Los Angeles and New York with a City Lights Home Entertainment DVD release and Sundance Channel debut to follow.
In keeping with its "all green" motto, the DVD packaging will be created from 100% postconsumer-waste recycled paper.
"Not only does Green Owl bring an environmentally friendly brand to the marketing mix but also opportunities for grass-roots campaigns and pro-environment organizational outreach that complement City Lights' long tradition of branding and marketing excellence," City Lights Media Group CEO Danny Fisher said.
