There haven’t been many more rookie stables as dominant as The Shield. Some of the most memorable factions in WWE history are collections of guys that either didn’t really have anything going on at the time, or friends behind the scenes joining up onscreen to replicate their own chemistry. The Shield were different.
Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns all first appeared on our screens at Survivor Series 2012 as Cm Punk’s mercenaries, who were enlisted to cause destruction wherever they went. Despite combined stints in Nxt, Nxt’s predecessor Florida Championship Wrestling, and the independent circuit, the three men were new to WWE flagship programming, but did not hesitate in making an impression and ‘grabbing the brass ring’.
For almost two years, they brutalised pretty much the entire roster, working their way to mid-card championships and high-profile feuds with the likes of Cm Punk himself,...

The rumour that Aj Lee will retire at WWE’s 2014 Survivor Series has now been mentioned by Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio. There really isn’t anything to confirm or deny the speculation, but the fact that the rumour has gained so much attention could be telling. Apparently, if she loses to Nikki at Survivor Series, it will be a strong indication that she’s done.
Indeed, just last week, I stated “It will be interesting to see how 2015 plays out – the WWE may not suit her or her employer.”
That was following the news that Aj was rebranding herself online as Aj Brooks. The WWE aren’t keen on their talent having outside ventures, so it was definitely a curious move for Aj to make.

PWInsider reports that Cm Punk’s contract with WWE expires this coming July.
As most WWE fans can recall, Punk’s WWE deal was up in July of 2011 right around the time he won the WWE Title at Money in the Bank in Chicago. It’s believed that it was a three year deal that would obviously expire in July of 2014.
What did we learn from the last time the man that’s known as “The Best In The World” had contract negotiations? That he is highly valued by WWE management. We also learned that it’s great to have leverage in negotiations because after Punk re-signed with WWE he became a bigger star than he was before. Not only did he win the WWE Title at Money in the Bank 2011 (an awesome event, by the way), but he also won it a few months later at Survivor Series 2011. That...
