Perfuma's animation model, based on the action figure from Mattel's Princess of Power toy-line, was designed by character designer Dale Hendrickson.
The animation of Mantenna falling down the trapdoor was previously seen in A Loss for Words (1985) & For Want of a Horse (1985) and will be seen again in A Lesson in Love (1986) and The Bibbet Story (1987).
Script was approved February 22, 1985 and final script revision was done April 1, 1985.
This episode was considered as the series finale, with the Rebellion issuing Hordak an ultimatum: surrender, then get off Etheria and stay off, or be stuck with Perfuma forever. Being Hordak, he eagerly goes with the former option. Subsequently, because She-Ra is no longer needed by Etheria, Adora retires to Eternia. The episode ends with a final moral from Loo-Kee, about how "kindness is better than force".
