Over the past few years, Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir have done commentary for the Kentucky Derby, the Super Bowl and even National Dog Show.
But for two fabulous weeks in February, the two former Olympic figure skaters will be returning to their sequined roots and handling NBC’s primetime figure skating coverage during the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.
“The competition in South Korea will undoubtedly be the best the world has ever seen in figure skating,” says Lipinski, 35, a 1998 Olympic gold medalist. “I can’t wait to see what the most compelling sport in the Winter Games — sorry,...

South Korea's Kim Yu-Na annihilated her own record to win gold in last night's free skate (watch), so hopefully she'll stop getting angry "emails that were not congratulations" from her countrymen. My God, the pressure on this poor, sweet girl in the elegant blue frock! Even under the assurance that a whole nation might turn its back on her, the 19-year-old essayist had seemed cool and composed every time she appeared on camera during the ladies' events -- so composed that we might not have expected that unleashing of emotion after her routine's final flourish. Yu-Na was so overcome with relief,...

The day after Evan Lysacek defeated Yevgeny Plushenko in an Olympic cold war for figure skating gold, we noticed Dancing With the Stars' Cheryl Burke tweeting him the suggestion that he join the cast of the show. If you've been wondering if he's game, well..."I would love to try Dancing With the Stars," he told EW in an email Tuesday. "I was a proud audience member (and cheerleader) as my friends Kristi Yamaguchi and Apolo Ohno danced their way to the mirrorball trophy. All I have heard from everyone that has done the show is what a blast it is.

Despite a brilliant skate, Japan's Mao Asada (left) finished nearly five points behind South Korea's Kim Yu-Na (middle), who broke her own world record in the short program. NBC pitted the two 19-year-olds' routines side-by-side in this crazy video. So which Brian of the 1988 Battle of the Brians is Kim? Even though silver medalist Brian Orser is Kim's own coach, the answer has to be gold-medalist Boitano. The chunky jewels on Kim's mosaic-style James Bond dress simply come far closer to the gold hardware on Boitano's blue military-style costume than anything on Asada's dress ever could. But enough about that.

With a perfectly cast Meryl Davis as Neyteri, the entire Olympic Ice Dancing community needs to just team up with James Cameron and do an Avatar tour already. Let's make this happen. You know Maxim Shabalin and Oksana Domnina already have Na'vi costumes as well as somewhat cohesive looks for the "various flora and fauna" endemic to Pandora. It could be problematic when whoever's playing Jake Sully (ideas? doesn't have to be Charlie...) wakes up in Reality, but that's the beauty of taking things On Ice -- the potential for drama! Jake Sully On Ice will figure it out. What...
