- Quotes
Marge Simpson: Oh, sweetie. If someone's bullying you, you should tell your teacher.
Bart Simpson: But it's the teacher who's bullying me.
Marge Simpson: Well, tell your regular bully. He won't like it one bit.
Homer Simpson: [Enters in his underwear, carrying his ripped pants] Marge, I ripped my pants! The only pants that understand my complex heine!
Marge Simpson: That was your last pair. How did it happen?
Homer Simpson: Uh, normal wear-and-tear.
[Flashback to Go-Kart Racing. Homer is laughing. He goes over a speed bump. His rear end crashes through the Go-Kart onto the pavement]
Homer Simpson: Ow! My ass!
Squeaky Voiced Teen: Sir! Your Go-Kart's damaged!
Homer Simpson: I paid for fifty laps and I'm gonna take them!
[the rest of the flashback continues with Homer racing with his rear end on the pavement. His pants have ripped. Homer continues laughing and shouting in pain. The flashback ends]
Homer Simpson: Oh. I'll have to go to every store in the pants district to find another pair like these.
Marge Simpson: Aw, Homie.

The writers take a character that has to be flat to maintain the status quo of the series and try to change him to make a story that doesn't even make you laugh. Seriously, if the point of the joke was to parody the movie My Fair Lady it's been a total failure, because I didn't laugh once. At least the secondary plot, while also lame, takes some of the boredom out of the main plot.
