Actor, Kurt Basa (Simon) sustained a head injury while attending a San Francisco Giants game on a night he was off in the middle of the shoot. A young man chasing a foul ball fell over a row of bleachers. As he feel, Kurt caught him by the shirt before he hit the concrete floor face forward. The young man's foot kicked Kurt in the face about an inch above his right eye leaving a cut over an inch long and his eye black and blue. Although, hidden by his hair most of the film, from time to time this injury is visible.
Before officially being titled 'Rice Cracker,' the film was tentatively called 'Sometimes Irish I Wasn't Korean'.
