I find this to be one of the best episodes of the entire show. We get some great segments out of the theater too. I actually remember watching this as one of the very first episodes I saw over a decade ago. I only saw the first twenty something minutes and was glad to watch the rest of it! Noticing the effects of colors on jail cell walls was actually the first thing I ever remember reading in Uncle John's Bathroom Reader! It was interesting to learn about Pearl's past, particularly with all the husbands she had. I read about this on Wikipedia, where it said that any one of these guys could have been Clayton's father.
The movie had nothing but classic riffs. One of the first great ones was, "The same dream?" followed by, "Yeah, only Raymond Burr was there this time". It's a reference to the reshooting of the original Godzilla film in case you didn't know. I also love, "I really got to stop killing guys" and of course, "Well, IT shouldn't drink so much coffee!". I really liked the exchanges with parts like, "In your mind, you killed the nurse" with the riff, "Which is what you did so it fits". I think I chuckled at, "I'd like to talk to your husband" followed by, "Uh, he's kind of a bat right now". ****
