1. PG Is The New PG-13
The prevailing wisdom is that older kids will avoid a PG movie, animated or otherwise, hence the rush for a PG-13. But in 2016, four of the top 10 films worldwide — and three of the top five in North America — were PG and lured demos of all ages, not just families.
2. Half Full, Half Empty
Felicity Jones starred in the biggest hit of the holidays, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. But the same weekend Rogue One topped all rivals, her other film, A Monster Calls, flopped.

That’s funny, just the other day I was wondering where the hell Borgore has been. In 2014 he stood among the most controversial names in Edm for his fast-and-loose lifestyle and boisterous brand of bass music, but 2015 has seen scarce releases from the Israeli DJ/producer.
So, I defintely rejoiced upon discovering that his new collaboration with Half Emoty is a trends-be-damned piece of skull rattling dubstep that would have climbed the charts a few years ago (yeah yeah, now that dubstep isn’t cool anymore I’ve started to kinda’ like it again, so sue me). A pitch-shifted vocal rolls out the red carpet for a delightfully dissonant barrage of bass wobbles, complimented by Miami-based emcee Pouya’s aggressive verses on the topline.
It’s alright for some things to stay exactly the way they are, and one of those things is Borgore. When, for instance, Zeds Dead started...

Boardwalk Empire, Ep. 5.08: “Eldorado” leaves only the dust and ash of regret
That it seemed obvious for the series’ finale to send Nucky out was a bit of a given, considering the telegraphed nature of the flashback conceit which had been building for the entirety of this season. There were glimpses of hope, and chances for atonement but the clock had already run out by the time Nucky took his final stroll down the boardwalk…. click here to read the article.
‘Neverending Nightmares’ is truly neverending
Based on designer Matt Gilgenbach’s battle with obsessive-compulsive disorder and depression, Neverending Nightmares is a psychological horror game that amplifies feelings of unease through repetition in a minimalist setting. Personally, this was the most difficult game for me to finish because of the content. There were several moments when I just had to stop and seriously question whether or not I could feasibly finish the game.

I was a bit hesitant to start watching the series finale for Boardwalk Empire. I didn’t even have it in me to watch it until a few days after it aired. Why was I so hesitant? Probably for a number of reasons. A part of me wasn’t ready to say goodbye to a series I held dear despite the disappointment of its last two seasons. A part of me waited out of fear of watching the show deflate right before my eyes in its final hour. A part of me just didn’t feel it was “must-watch” television anymore; there wasn’t any urgency to watch it. Let’s just say this, I came ready to be underwhelmed. Warning: There are spoilers ahead for those who haven’t finished the show.
I didn’t always have this feeling towards Boardwalk Empire. When the show first premiered, it was...

David Rakoff, an author best known for his darkly funny personal essays, died on Thursday after a second bout with cancer. Awarded the Thurber Prize for his 2010 book of essays, Half Empty, Rakoff was born in Canada and lived in New York, where he earned fame for his frankly open stories about being a gay, Jewish and very neurotic man. A frequent contributer to Ira Glass' This American Life radio show, Rakoff met the host through his friend, the writer David Sedaris, who Rakoff first approached while working in book publishing. He wrote two other books of essays: 2011's

It's Cheyenne On Glee! Squeeeee!
I thought I'd start of this week's column with some fun new pics I found recently!
First, I've got the exclusive first look at Cheyenne Jackson's first appearance on Glee as Will Schuester's new rival Dustin Goulsby.
Don't you love a man in black!
Adam Rose/Fox
In case you don't remember, last month Glee creator Ryan Murphy told me that Jackson "...is going to sing. He is going to dance, of course. He is the new coach of Vocal Adrenaline. He’s a complete villain. He wears all black. He’s a handsome, villain who will become very intertwined in Will’s life."
And we can't wait for Cheyenne's appearance on Tuesday's ep!
Speaking of things I can't wait for is new Torchwood miniseries (Ha! Whoever threw the rotten cabbage at me missed!) so to tide us over are two new pics I spotted of John Barrowman.

Known as Santa Cruz’ most degenerate six-piece, Arsonists Get All The Girls has just released their latest GrindCore Masterpiece entitled Portals. Fusing blast beats with keyboard madness, Agatg has written 11 tracks of sick and twisted music to whet the appetites of all you grind-aholic Gorehounds who thrive on this brand of insanity.
Arsonists Get All The Girls offer a unique sound that unlike anything heard before, although they claim to draw their inspiration from bands like Despised Icon, Cryptopsy, and Dream Theater. Their musical arsenal if filled with technical guitar riffing, heavy-as-hell break down beats, screamed lyrics, and some of the oddest keyboard sounds ever merged with metal. Imagine listening to your favorite Death Metal CD while playing a Nintendo Video Game, that’s kinda what Agatg sounds like. If you’re into eclectic music with an aggressive edge, definitely check Agatg’s new CD Portals.
