Christmas and Charisma

Warning: Spoilers
It's coming close to Christmas why I give a review on this episode. Quite a number wondered about the timeline as it followed that circus episode (with Ash in Mr Mime disguise) as his Charizard is back to been a Charmander and Misty has her Starmie. They have a weird human-shaped pokemon with blonde hair named Jynx that's stranded and Ash and his crew wants to return to its owner being Santa Claus. I wondered how and where they got the raft and ropes yet agree no possible way for Ash to swim for thousand miles in the freezing Arctic waters while only in his swimming trunks.

So in terms of the plot, Jessie wants revenge on Santa for her doll was taken from her years ago and hadn't been returned. Yet, it turned out it was taken for getting repaired - however Santa says he only visits those who believe in him. I don't know whether this Santa Claus is really a nice one and I can't really blame Jessie as she didn't anticipate that as a young girl.

This is a odd Christmas episode with Santa doesn't visit children who don't believe in him, he uses several Jynx as his elves and a Rapidash as his reindeer (pokemon Stantler not debuted) and why is there a Lapras with telepathic powers.

Santa is real here?

This was a great episode, but I was confused by a lot of it. I mean, we get this Lapras that appears that is able to speak telepathically with really no explanation. Oh well, it was something different for the anime. It was weird to see Christmas being featured in an anime as it isn't very relevant in Japan. Well, they actually view it as a time to eat fried chicken or something. Why wasn't there fried chicken in this? It's great we get to see a young Jessie. She never had an origins episode like James and Meowth, so we have to piece her backstory more.

This episode features Jessie getting revenge on Santa Claus because his Jynx stole her doll. It turns out it was just repairing it! Then again, that is weird how Santa just chose not to visit people who don't believe in him. Honestly not that nice of a Santa. We still get this cute little bit at the end. Santa has a Rapidash instead of eight reindeer. This was before Stantler was created, but since Santa travels around the world, wouldn't he already be aware of the existence of Stantler? This episode was pretty weird, but still very enjoyable. Jynx became controversial and was in an episode aired right next to Porygon! ***1/2
