ITV has released a brief teaser trailer for their upcoming live action/CGI hybrid series Thunderbirds Are Go! There's no footage of the characters in the teaser, just a distress call and a glimpse at the redesigned Thunderbird 5. It also points fans to the official Thunderbirds.com website, where you can learn more about the upcoming reboot of the 1965 series.
The special effects in the series were done by Peter Jackson's Weta Workshop. I haven't seen the original series in years, but it was fun to watch. I know there's not much to see in this teaser, but I think this could be a great reboot if it's done right. I'm looking forward to seeing more. Below you'll find some additional details about the upcoming series.

Thunderbirds Are Go has released the first image of the brand new Tracy Island.
The picture from the new TV series reboot was revealed during the Thunderbirds panel at San Diego's Comic-Con, which celebrated the show's 50th anniversary taking place in 2015.
Tracy Island, the home and secret base of the Tracy family, is known for features such as its retractable swimming pool and hidden spacecraft hangars. It is also characterised by its location in the sparkling waters of an unknown exotic paradise.
The executive producer of the new series, Giles Ridge, said: "It's great to have the chance to give fans a sneak peek at the home of Thunderbirds. Tracy Island was a much loved feature of the original show, so it felt right that we showcase our new-look location with the show's followers."

Remember the British TV series from the 1960s, Thunderbirds? The puppet, action, sci-fi epic series holds a special place in the heart of a certain generation and now the folks from ITV Studios are hoping for it to catch on with an all-new audience. The series is going to be relaunched in 2015, with the name Thunderbirds Are Go, and they've tapped Weta to handle the effects for the update- which will use a combination of miniature sets and CG characters. The original was filmed using a technique that creator Gerry Anderson called Super Mario Nation (I like that!)...oh wait, I'm sorry. That's Supermarionation.

A gifted comic actor, Steve Coogan is best known for character creations such as Alan Partridge (recently brought to the big screen in "Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa"), Tommy Saxondale, Paul Calf and more. A dexterous improviser, and remarkable impressionist, Coogan came to fame by making U.K. audiences laugh large and hard, so many were surprised when the actor took on a true story about an elderly woman searching for the son she lost during her tough teenage years spent in a convent. But the results have been impressive. Winning a screenwriting prize at the Venice Film Festival (Coogan co-wrote the screenplay with Jeff Pope), a runner up for the highly prized People's Choice Award Tiff and a Golden Globe nominee for Best Picture, Best Actress (for Judi Dench) and Best Screenplay, "Philomena" has seen Coogan move the goal posts of his career into new territory. In addition to writing and producing the movie,...

Gerry Anderson's Thunderbirds is returning to television in 2015, and here's who's voicing the characters...
Earlier this year came news that Gerry Anderson's Thunderbirds is returning to ITV with Thunderbirds Are Go!, which prompted us to scribble a wish-list of what we'd like to see in the new series. A role for Grandma Tracy (tick!) and the return of the original series' Parker (sort of tick! Close enough anyway) were two such items.
Here are the actors announced as voicing Anderson's well-loved characters in this modern update...
David Graham as Parker
Bringing continuity from the original series to the new is David Graham, the voice of Brains, Gordon Tracy and more in the sixties Thunderbirds. Graham is to bring Lady Penelope's chauffeur Parker to life in this iteration of the series.

ITV's new series brings in Rosamund Pike as voice of Lady Penelope, with David Graham returning as chauffeur Parker
Rosamund Pike will provide the voice of Lady Penelope in the new ITV version of Thunderbirds in a cast that also includes Fonejacker's Kayvan Novak.
However, some things remain the same: David Graham, who provided the distinctive nasal tones of Lady Penelope's chauffeur, Parker, in the original 1960s children's series, is to reprise the role.
Pike, the actor best known for her role as a double agent opposite Pierce Brosnan in James Bond film Die Another Die, said she was "very excited to bring Lady Penelope's wry wit and taste for adventure to a new generation".
The new series, which will be called Thunderbirds are Go!, also sees the return of Graham as the voice of Parker. Graham voiced Parker, along with three other puppet characters, in the original series...

Alan Partridge, back in a new film, remains the actor's most memorable part, but much has changed since he first portrayed him – from Hollywood success to his presence at the Leveson inquiry
When Armando Iannucci finished work on the second series of I'm Alan Partridge in 2002, he told Observer readers that Steve Coogan's best-loved character had reached the end of the road. "I got a sense by the end of filming," he said, "that this was probably enough." By then, Coogan had developed a love/hate relationship with his Radio Norwich-presenting alter ego. The comedian wanted credibility and Hollywood stardom, but what he got was people shouting "a-ha!" at him in the street. A decade after Partridge's debut on the Radio 4 show On the Hour, it seemed like a good time to put Alan's sports casual suits into mothballs.
Eleven years on and Radio Norwich's finest is on the verge of movie stardom.

Alan Partridge the movie, now entitled ‘Alpha Papa’, has a teaser trailer. And it is a teaser so don’t expect to see much costume, yet what we do see is magnificent. Casual red shirt, biscuit varsity jacket, brown leather belt and pale blue denim jeans; the jeans of which perhaps we see too much.
It cannot be overstated how vital costume design is to the character of Alan Partridge. We know Alan so well by what he wears, we recognise him in society. He is that guy in a salmon pink Gabacci polo shirt and maroon Greenwoods cords. It is a very specific style that may look thrown together but takes an age to compile. His v-neck sweaters, zipper jackets, rollnecks, cardigans, snug jeans, pastel shirts; patterns that clash and colours that bleed. However most important is his blazer, usually in jade green, mustard or plum, and emblazoned with breast pocket crest.

While American audiences are only now getting a taste of the talents of Steve Coogan, over in his native U.K. the actor/comedian has been killing it for years. And it all started with his comic creation Alan Partridge. The character became a sensation with British audiences, and while to try and describe him without having actually seen it is an exercise in futility -- he's a consistently lame, earnestly insecure yet narcissitic talk show host -- he spawned two radio series, three TV stints, a book and more. And while Coogan moved on to other characters since, including Tommy Saxondale and a dark version of himself in "The Trip" (more on that in a second), Alan Patridge is coming back. He's currently back in the form of a new webseries "Mid Morning Matters" and the much talked about feature film is around the corner. In the works for a while,...

Adapted from Chris O’Dowd’s own comedy short for Sky 1 HD screened during last December’s Little Crackers series, O’Dowd will write and also star in a part autobiographical comedic look at his life growing up in Ireland in 1989 in Moone Boy which will start production in the actors hometown of Boyle, Co. Roscommon and Dublin in the New Year and will be broadcast on Sky 1 HD next summer.
Moone Boy is set in a small town in Ireland in 1989 and follows the antics of the youngest member of the Moone family, 11 year old Martin Moone. Martin has a unique perspective on life aided by an imaginary friend, Sean Murphy, played by Chris O’Dowd. Martin’s imagination comes into play both in his childish drawings, which come alive through animation, and in the ridiculous schemes he comes up with, against Sean’s better judgement. With Sean’s help,...

To celebrate the theatrical release of Your Highness at cinemas in the United Kingdom, I was cordially invited to a night of fine ales, tequila shots and general frivolities with Prince Thadeous (Danny McBride) and his manservant Courtney (Rasmus Hardiker).
This round table interview was to be like no other. For a start – Pub. Yeah, Pub. I was handed my first of many pints and took a seat at a non round table in the Pub, The Round Table (see what they did there), just off Leicester Square. After we'd all got stuck into the wacky ales provided by the very generous, yummy alcohol brewers, Badger Brewery, Danny and Rasmus graced us with their presence.
Your Highness is a medieval, stoner comedy starring McBride and James Franco as princes on a quest to rescue Franco's wife to be, played by Zooey Deschanel. Along the way they jack off elderly wizards,...

The comedians play companions in their new TV series, The Trip. But their real-life relationship runs far from smoothly
It is somewhere in the region of lunchtime at the Inn at Whitewell, and from the dining room carries the gentle roar of the feast: spoons brush soup plates, wine glasses kiss, and conversation gathers and swells. Outside, it is a sharp, bright day and here in the Trough of Bowland, the light skims across the bare branches and seems to settle among the hills of the Hodder Valley.
Back indoors, sitting beside the log fire, is the comedian Rob Brydon. He is sipping a glass of red wine and surveying the local newspaper, pausing, occasionally, to bask in the warmth.
Into his post-prandial idyll stalks Steve Coogan; taller, sharper, slightly harried, he sits down heavily and scowls. Brydon, impervious, lowers his newspaper. "I have ordered you a sticky toffee pudding,...

South African actor Sharlto Copley came out of nowhere to amaze people with his performance as Wikus Van De Merwe in Neill Blomkamp's District 9 and has since gone on to land the role of Murdock in The A-Team. But did you know that before District 9 he was already hard at work writing and directing a movie of his own? Copley and partner Simon Hansen have been developing a mysterious project called Spoon for a few years now, and it sounds like it will finally be released sometime in the near future. The good folks over at Twitch [1] got their hands on the very first teaser trailer, and although it doesn't show much, the premise is intriguing. Spoon is a supernatural thriller revolving around a man with a strange medical condition who blacks out during periods of extreme stress, causing strange things to happen. It stars TV actor Darren Boyd (Saxondale,...

Before he rose to fame as the leading man in District 9 and long before he was cast as Mad Murdock in Joe Carnahan's revival of The A-Team, Sharlto Copley's future plans involved working on the other side of the camera. Along with Simon Hansen - his partner in South Africa's Inspired Minority production house - Copley had his beginnings as a producer and effects geek, with both Hansen and Copley heavily involved behind the scenes in both District 9 and Neill Blomkamp's short film precursor Alive In Joburg. Copley and Hansen are both credited as producers on Joburg and both were heavily involved in the effects as well, with Hansen later given directorial duties on the interview segments of District 9. And while fame and other projects have stretched out the timeline a bit the duo's post-Joburg plans revolved around co-directing a supernatural thriller titled Spoon.

If all you know of Steve Coogan is Alan Partridge, the new Steve Coogan Collection might be a bit overwhelming for you. It's thirteen discs with eight different series, including Knowing Me, Knowing You, which introduced the character to television audiences, Knowing Me, Knowing Yule, the Christmas special, and two series of I'm Alan Partridge. That's five discs of Alan Partridge, which is always good news.
But there is plenty of good stuff on the other eight discs, a lot to discover for the Partridge-only crowd. Coogan has a wonderful talent for characters, and this Collection is full of them. There are three discs of the Saxondale series, in which Coogan plays Tommy Saxondale, an ex-roadie who has cleaned up and started an exterminator business.

Any proper comedy buff will tell you that Steve Coogan is not nearly as famous in the States as he should be. Here comes the proof: The Steve Coogan Collection, a DVD set (out today) of the Mancunian funnyman’s nine most legendary, laughable, and provocative BBC shows. They range from the groundbreaking Knowing Me, Knowing You with Alan Partridge (Ricky Gervais’ irritating, pipe-dreaming David Brent wouldn’t exist without chat show flunky Alan) to the previously unavailable Paul and Pauline Calf’s Video Diaries (Coogan plays both of the trashy siblings, pictured) and the oddly sweet pest control comedy Saxondale.
