This is the last title worked on by one of the creators, script editor Luc Beerten. He was succeeded by novice Wout Thielemans, who would remain the show's script editor until it ended in 2011 with a short break of three years.
Dimitri buys Xavier a helmet to protect his head, feeling guilty for having kicked a ball against his head. With that, he looks like an inventor of some kind. A helmet would become an aid for soccer goalkeepers who suffered devastating head injuries. A famous example is Chelsea's Petr Cech, who sustained a skull fracture in an English Premier League home game against Reading in mid-October 2006. In Flanders, Sammy Bossut of Zulte Waregem started to wear a helmet in 2021, suffering the same fate as Cech.
At the start of the title, both Pico and Xavier are training in their match shirt which usually doesn't happen in soccer. Their teammates wear their track suits as it usually happens for training sessions.
A player on the team is called Dirk. He's carrying a dizzy Xavier with Pico, who mentions his name as he asks him to help. The next scene shows Oscar took over from Dirk.
The first appearance of Johnny De Coensel as a player on the soccer team. De Coensel would remain a member of the team until the series finale in 2011. He also featured in all of the four feature films.
