Not sure about the bangs, but it's always fun to see Coco Krebitz back in action. After a promising start in small-budget big-screen gems like "Tempo" and "Fandango", she's been off to a range of projects all her own: directing shorts, singing in her boyfriend's band, having a baby, some TV to pay the rent. Her rare appearances inevitably trigger mixed emotions: joy and gratitude mixed with regret. Why do we see so little of her, and why are there so few girls like her in German cinema: serious, graceful and brilliant in an unassuming way? Anyway, it's always a pleasure to have her back, even in a made-for-TV production like this one. Inspired by the Brothers Grimm and with overtones of Martin Suter's "Small World", "Pechmarie" watches her doing nothing much at all. Or so it seems. It's a quiet piece, as befits a quiet girl. Producers, please: send her cartloads of indie scripts before it's too late. Any day now she might throw in the towel and open a coffee shop in Ljubljana. Or something.
