Trivia
This was Efrem Zimbalist Jr.'s last appearance as Don Alejandro. The role would be recast with Henry Darrow the following season. According to Zimbalist's biography, he was unhappy being away from home for so long for filming, as the series was shot in Madrid and the cast had to spend many months at a time in Spain during production.

Goofs
When Zorro goes to put the land grant back in the box in the sitting room, he leaves his laboratory without his hat on, yet emerges from the secret door in the fireplace with it on.
