- A gypsy woman comes to the pueblo with a couple of golden nuggets, and a prospector sees them and kidnaps her. Forcing her to take him to where she found them, he discovers an Indian gold mine. Zorro must save her.
- A gypsy woman named Maria Montoya tries to buy supplies with gold nuggets, but the merchant accuses her of cheating him with fool's gold. Diego intervenes and pays in exchange for the gold nuggets. The woman tells Diego that her grandmother received them from Indians who live in the mountains. Diego shows the gold to his father, and they agree to keep the discovery of gold a secret in order to protect their community. Diego and Bernardo visit Maria's grandmother, a cumadera who lives in the hills. Diego tells the cumadera they are seeking a love potion for Bernardo, so she gives Bernardo some magical powders. Diego then asks the cumadera to keep silent if anyone asks her about the Indians who gave her the gold. However, two agents of the Eagle overheard Maria telling Diego about the Indians that morning, and later kidnapped Maria. The kidnappers force Maria to lead them to the Indian's mine, and Diego and Bernardo follow the tracks. Maria escapes the mine, while Diego enters as Zorro to fight the kidnappers. Zorro defeats them, but is captured by Indians who are guarding the mine. The Indians explain they must kill all intruders so the secret of the mine will not spread. Bernardo enters the mine in time to rescue Zorro by using the magical powders he received from the cumadera. The kidnappers are then killed by the Indians, and the mine is sealed by a landslide.
