Walter Brennan is the guest star in this Zane Grey Theater episode playing a town sheriff whose character is not unlike Will Sonnett in his later television series.
He's getting on in years and the townspeople would like him to retire, but he's not about to. In fact he takes after a robber by himself without a posse, saying they would slow him down.
The old man can definitely still cut it out there. Half of the episode is Brennan out on the desert with him talking to his horse. We also hear how his mind turns in terms of catching the robber Val Dufour.
All I can say is Dufour never had a chance.
Brennan turns in a fantastic performance, this story is a real star vehicle for him.
