- When a friend of The Virginian is killed and the posse won't follow the killer out of the county, The Virginian goes alone. He tracks the killer and a woman involved to a remote outlaw controlled town but can he get them back to the law?
- The Virginian accompanies his friend Wesley Hedges to sell his horses to the Army at Tiburon for a good price. Hedges receives $2500 for the herd but Hedges has fallen for a beautiful faro dealer, Alma Wilson. The Virginian afraid Alma will take Hedges for his money agrees to hold $2400 while Hedges gambles with the other $100. The two return to the hotel but Hedges takes back the $2400. Late that night he goes to Alma's boarding room to persuade her to go with him but she refuses. Alma is the ex-wife of the escaped outlaw Paul Dallman whose brother Roy has come for Alma under orders from Paul. Roy kills Wesley for the money making it appear Alma did it and ran. The livery stable hostler is able to identify Roy from a poster for the Sheriff . The Virginian rides with the posse to catch Roy. They are forced to turn back at the county line but The Virginian continues the hunt on his own on the Outlaw Trail to the outlaw town of LandOsky. He poses as an outlaw to find the brothers and Alma. His next task is getting Roy and Alma back for a trial.—Anonymous
