The Judge's old flame
bkoganbing2 September 2017
This story on The Virginian has concert singer Yvonne DeCarlo and her girl Friday Melinda Plowman come to Medicine Bow for a little cultural uplifting for the frontier town. Her reputation is a big exaggerated and she has another sideline.

It's a variation of the old badger game where DeCarlo blackmails a prominent local after getting him in a compromising position and threatening a suit for alienation of affections. But in this case she does run into a real old flame in Judge Henry Garth.

Things to rekindle a bit for Lee J. Cobb and Yvonne DeCarlo so much so that the Judge is thinking of proposing marriage. But when he finds her pistol in hand over the body of another man it's his legal skills that are needed.

In court Cobb learns a lot of unpleasant things about his client, but in the end the truth comes out. Quite a truth it is.

An interesting story about the paths we take in careers and in life itself.
