- Ace, a compulsive gambler and diner owner, discovers that his best friend, Jimbo, has telekinesis after seeing him save the driver in a car wreck. Jimbo rarely uses the power, as it got him in trouble when he was young, and its use gives him headaches, but Ace sees opportunity and spirits his girlfriend Kitty and Jimbo to Las Vegas to win big at the gambling tables. After the first night, Ace wins enough money to last the rest of his life, but that's not good enough for Ace, who refuses to leave when Kitty wants to. She leaves, but he stays, going out on the town with the hotel's cigarette girl. The next day, Ace gets the biggest no-limits gambler to visit his hotel room and play craps. He keeps winning with Jimbo's help but loses on an all-or-nothing bet when Jimbo's power desert him.—Tony-B4
- Opening narration: "Portrait of a man who thinks and thereby gets things done. Mr. Jimbo Cobb might be called a prime mover, a talent which has to be seen to be believed. In just a moment, he'll show his friends - and you - how he keeps both feet on the ground - and his head in the Twilight Zone."
Ace Larsen (Dane Clark), who co-owns a cafe with his business partner, Jimbo Cobb (Buddy Ebsen), discovers Jimbo has telekinetic powers after he keeps their cafe's occupants safe from a crashing car outside. Ace, a compulsive gambler, plans to use Jimbo's powers to win big in at the casinos, and so Ace takes Jimbo and his girlfriend Kitty Cavanaugh (Christine White) to Las Vegas. Ace and Jimbo quickly win $200,000, but that doesn't satisfy Ace. Kitty is disgusted by Ace's behavior and leaves, so Ace picks up a cigarette girl, Sheila (Jane Burgess). The next morning, Ace contacts high roller/gangster "Big" Phil Nolan (Nesdon Booth) and bets Jimbo's winnings in a game of craps, where initially he wins on every roll. Ace begins to get a little too inamoured with Sheila, however, and as he sees Ace's carousing and gambling getting out of hand, Jimbo urges Ace to stop betting. Ace refuses and bets everything on one final roll of the dice. Suddenly, Jimbo's telekinesis unaccountably fails him and Ace loses everything. Jimbo explains that he "blew a fuse." The two partners are poor again, but they are able to laugh it off. The two men go home, and Ace proposes to Kitty, who accepts. This surprises Jimbo so much that he drops his broom, but quietly and - out of sight - he picks it up again, telekinetically, proving that he had never lost his powers after all.
Closing narration: "Some people possess talent; others are possessed by it. When that happens, the talent becomes a curse. Jimbo Cobb knew, right from the beginning. But before Ace Larsen learned that simple truth, he had to take a short trip - through the Twilight Zone."
