Dodgy record dealings.
Marino investigates Al Deus, who makes his money through bootlegging records, and forcing local business owners to have his jukeboxes, and purchase only his records, but a new opportunity for profit arises, in the form of a singer, Barry Steele.
A pretty good episode, if you know the story of Elvis and The Colonel, you'll be well aware of just how much money a manager can make out of a talented singer.
It's a pretty good storyline, Deus makes for a good Corruptor, and you have to hand it to him, the clearly knew how to turn a profit from a couple of juke boxes.
I liked the way that Steele quickly learned how his new owner controlled everything, right down to the style of his hair.
Dean Jones of course gets to show off his crooning skills, always such a good actor. Harold J Stone made a good villain here.
It's a good episode, 7/10.

Play It Blue
Al Deus is a gangster involved in jukeboxes and bootlegged records.
You bought his jukeboxes for your bar or cafe. You paid for his records which were copies.
Now Deus has gone into the music business. He plans to make Barry Steele a teenage heart throb. Number one on the hit parade.
Steele learns at first hand just how controlling Deus can be.
Maybe Paul Marino can get the goods on Deus.
Dean Jones gets to sing a song or two as Steele. An episode rather on the nose. Pop stars were and are still exploited mercilessly by managers and record companies.
It was interesting to see there was so much money to be made on jukeboxes and copies of licorice pizzas.
