Don Mancini (Father of the Child's Play Franchise) co-wrote the screenplay for Fitting Punishment. It is also worth noting that Kevin Yagher is not just the creator of the Cryptkeeper puppet, but is also responsible for creating the Chucky Good Guy Doll for Mancini's franchise.
'Fitting Punishment' is the only episode in the series with an all Black cast.
The Chandelier in Uncle Ezra's home is the same chandelier used in "Tales from the Crypt Presents Demon Knight" (1995)
Moses Gunn and Teddy Wilson previously appeared in separate episodes of "Good Times," Moses Gunn as Florida Evans' fiancee, Carl Dixon, Teddy Wilson as the neighborhood hustler and pimp, Sweet Daddy Williams. Nick LaTour who played the doctor, appeared in one episode as a reverend.
"Fitting Punishment" was based on Entertainment Comic's Vault of Horror Vol 1 #16, December 1950. In the original narrative, Ezra's last name was Flint and his nephew was named Stanley. Also Ezra Flint was also a coffin maker.
