The story I heard was that Yul Brynner was starting to lose his hair in any event so when as a relative unknown he was picked to star in The King And I he decided to go bald and a look was born. This Westinghouse Studio One teleplay will be an opportunity to see Yul Brynner with some follicles on top of his skull.
I noted that Studio One did this play twice with Brynner and co-star Felicia Montealegre and this is the second time. Brynner plays a psychiatrist who treats his patients with hypnotism. He and Montealegre have history that is hidden from way back in her childhood and he means her no good.
But he does work subtly trying to push her buttons to drive her over the edge. Or using his mesmerizing wiles on mental patient to do his bidding.
I found this teleplay to be overwrought and melodramatic. Seeing Betty Furness push the latest in Westinghouse products in 1950 was interesting.
And this is a chance to see Brynner with some hair.
