- With the threats of both the Replicators and the Goa'uld greatly diminished and the sister ship to the Prometheus, the Daedalus, now under construction, SG-1 is anxious to get a ride on the new ship. However, the mood is somewhat darkened by a phone call informing Dr. Jackson of Catherine Langford's death. After the funeral, Catherine's niece gives Daniel "a few odds and ends" that her aunt wanted him to have. Upon delivery it is discovered that almost her entire collection was shipped to Daniel's lab. He finds in one of her books a possible location of a ZPM, but scans of the area showed that it was no longer there. Daniel proposes that they use the Ancient's time machine to take it from Ra at Giza in 3000 BC.—trekkie4christ
- Daniel Jackson gets some bad news - Catherine Langford, the woman who brought him into the Stargate program - has died. At her funeral, he learns that Catherine has left him some things and returns to the SGC to find a room full of journals and artifacts. Among her things, Daniel believes he's found a ZPM - or at least where it once was - the Giza plateau around 3000 BC, and suggests using the Ancients' time machine to go back and retrieve it. They travel back in time with relative ease and quickly recover the power module. They return to the time machine only to find it under guard by the Goa'uld. They have affected the timeline, however, and the new present day bears little resemblance to the one they left behind.—garykmcd
- After speaking at the funeral of his archaeology mentor, Egyptology professor Catherine Langford, Daniel receives a load of artifacts from her, including a last copy of a book with a reference to a priceless ZPM (Ancient power technology) buried in Gizah in 3000 BC, before the human revolt that chased out Ra. He gets Carter and Jack to agree to time travel to retrieve it, despite the risk of altering history. It works, but also disturbs the timeline, as Ra's Jaffa find and guard the time machine. On Earth eight years ago, General Hammond is back in base command and receives a video from Jackson's trapped party, and decides to reassemble the team; only Daniel and Carter are just a remedial teacher and scientific assistant, and Jack is a disinterested retired colonel. Still, Daniel and Sam, sworn to secrecy as consultants, come up with the key ideas to find the Antarctic Stargate, yet are banned from further action as mere civilians and Jack refuses to join them.—KGF Vissers
