Originally, Chase said he was finished after this fifth and final season. It was writer Terrence Winter who convinced Chase to continue by telling him, "When we come back we could be anywhere. 2 years in the future. Meadow could have kids. AJ could be a grown man. We could do anything." This sparked David Chase to continue the series.

"All Due Respect" was also the title of an episode of The Wire (2002-2008), another HBO crime drama. It aired on September 26, 2004, Nearly 4 months after The Sopranos Season 5 Finale of the same name.
