- In order to get over her divorce, Charlotte takes up tap-dancing, but it doesn't solve her emotional state. Richard has enough confidence to admit doing it with Bebe and invite Samantha to join him in the luxury shower in one breath; she obliges, but still is vexed enough to have a quickie just to spite Richard, who doesn't bother. Aidan joins his fiancée Carrie in their smaller shower. Miranda learns from her gynecologist the baby is a boy, and is terrified not to be flooded by maternal feelings. The two brides go wedding shopping together, but Carrie chokes in a dress, an extreme symptom of wedding gibbers, or is it more serious?—KGF Vissers
- Carrie freaks out about marrying Aidan. She meets an old friend at a restaurant who tells Carrie that the best marriage locations fill up fast and that she should hustle if she wants to book a decent location.
Aidan wants a wedding in Hawaii, which is not her style. She is so bummed that Miranda takes her out to try on bad wedding dresses. But what starts as a joke, Carrie has a panic attack wearing the dress. Carrie has an allergic reaction and Miranda has to rip the dress off Carrie so she can breathe again.
Carrie realizes that she can't get married. Charlotte tells Carrie that marriage gave her a sense of security. As Aidan brings the wall down between the 2 apartments, Carrie has another panic attack and tells Aidan that she doesn't want to get married yet. Aidan agrees to go slow and understand that Carrie just needs some time to adjust mentally.
A few days later Aidan presses Carrie to go to Vegas and have a shotgun wedding in 12 hours. Carrie says she is not ready for marriage and needs more time, but Aidan cannot understand what will change with time. Aidan calls marriage a stupid piece of paper and Carrie asks why they need a stupid piece of paper. Aidan says Carrie is not trustworthy as she won't even wear the wedding ring on her finger (she wears it in a locket, around her neck). Aidan walks away saying that if Carrie does not want to marry him right now, she will never want to marry him.
Charlotte takes tap classes and has a meltdown during the "Tea for Two" number, where she realizes she isn't paired up like everybody else at the class. Everyone has been telling her to take time to grieve but she is adamant that she does not need time. She realizes she isn't ready to be alone after her divorce.
Miranda must feign excitement when she learns her baby's sex. With her sonogram technician when she tells her that it's a bot, her maid Magda, Carrie, and Charlotte. She cared for the baby when it kicked.
Samantha finds out Richard is seeing other women when he is in London and other cities, and his photos are all over the papers. A gossip columnist named JJ gives her all the details. At first Samantha is not willing to believe JJ, but then JJ shows her the proof and it is hard for Samantha to ignore. JJ had been begging Samantha to have sex with her, but she always ignored him. Samantha is frustrated with herself that she cares about who Richard sleeps with. The girls encourage Samantha to talk to Richard about her feelings, but Samantha says that the only reason Richard is with her is because he believes Samantha is immune to this type of stuff. Samantha pushes Richard to be monogamous with her by telling him that his bed hopping makes investors nervous. But Richard says he is not monogamous. Samantha has sex with the columnist JJ (Marc Grapey) out of spite. But JJ goes soft on Samantha and is not able to complete having sex with her.
