Larry David and his entertainment lawyer had a bet over a friendly game of golf. David's victory allowed him to use his lawyer's name in an episode of Seinfeld. That's how Lloyd Braun (played by Peter Keleghan) became a character in this episode.
There is an alternate scene with Lloyd Braun, played by Peter Keleghan, confronting George (Jason Alexander) for faking his injury on the DVD. Lloyd is also sarcastic when Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) says the name tags were a good idea.
This is the second time the series ever used the f-word. The first time was by Elaine in The Subway (1992). All of these are beeped out.
When Jerry and Kramer start their bet over whether the yogurt is fat free, Jerry says "Let's start the insanity." This phrase is a spoof on a then-popular weight-loss infomercial in which the spokeswoman Susan Powter used the catchphrase "Stop the insanity!"
Maryedith and her son Matthew are returning characters, having previously appeared in Season 3's The Parking Space. In that episode, Jerry gets in trouble for mentioning that their family business is failing while Matthew is within earshot. In this episode, he gets in trouble for swearing near the boy, and their family business (by the end of the episode) appears to be failing again.
