The scene where Elaine screams out her window at the barking dog was shot the day before the audience taping. Julia screamed so hard take after take that it affected her voice. This is why she sounds so hoarse in most of the remaining scenes. Her real-life laryngitis had to be added to the script.

Funny fact is that Mario also appears as "The Maroon Golf" in The Puerto Rican Day (1998), in which Mario calls Jerry a jackass. Mario also appeared in Jerry's comedy web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee (2012).
