- Jerry, George, and Elaine are at dinner when a menu on an adjacent table catches on fire. George puts it out and explains to the manager that the busboy, Antonio, (David Labiosa) left the menu too close to a lit candle, and Elaine jokingly declares she is never eating there again.
The manager takes this seriously and the busboy is fired that very night, upsetting Elaine and George. Elaine uses her charm to get the busboy's apartment address and phone number, although the phone has been disconnected recently. George felt sorry and wanted to see if he could get the busboy another job. Jerry asks George to take Kramer with him for support, since George was not willing for Jerry to finish his act. George and Kramer later go to the busboy's ramshackle apartment to apologize, only to accidentally leave the door open, letting his cat out. The busboy, Antonio, is livid and makes George and Kramer look for his missing cat. George is scared and he fears that Antonio is going to punch him in the face. George and Kramer manage to leave Antonio. George is now paranoid that Antonio is stalking him. George blames Kramer as it was his job to close the door, as he came into the apartment after George.
A few days later, the busboy comes to see George. George is scared that Antonio is coming to kill him. However, Antonio tells him that there was a gas line explosion at the restaurant, killing five employees, including the busboy hired to replace him. He thanks George for inadvertently saving his life and says he's found a better paying job anyway (which pays twice as much as before) and also his escaped cat has come back to him.
Meanwhile, Elaine faces having her boyfriend Ed stay with her for a week. Ed is from Seattle and is in New York for some work. Ed and Elaine met in New York and went out a few times, and now Ed is coming back to spend the entire week with her. Then, she tries frantically to get him onto a plane back to Seattle. She borrows Jerry's car to drive Ed to the airport the next day. She tells Jerry that she hates Ed's guts. To avoid having sex, Elaine is pretending to be on her period for the last 5 days. Elaine accidentally oversleeps. The flight is at 10:15 and its already 9:15 am. Ed says that they will miss the flight and offers to leave the next day. Elaine is adamant that Ed has to leave the same day and on the way to JFK International Airport she encounters a five-car pileup on Rockaway Blvd. Elaine goes to Jerry's apartment while Ed follows after parking Jerry's car.
Antonio was leaving Jerry's apartment, when he gets into a shouting match with Ed and eventually a fistfight in the hallway of Jerry's apartment building, resulting in injuries on both ends after they fall down several flights of stairs.
The busboy loses his new job, George is forced to take care of his cat and Elaine's boyfriend is bed ridden at her apartment for several more weeks.
