SPLASHDOWN is the season finale of season two of SEAQUEST DSV and it brings back guest villain Mark Hamill for added effect. The story is politically themed with the stakes continually raising as the threat of civil war breaks out. Things end on a suitable cliffhanger, but it turned out that things would never be the same after this, so it's very much the last of the 'old' style episodes.

Lucas is really good at his job

The sub is taken from the water by a spaceship and dragged off to another planet. Because they need a sub.... okie dokie.
It is truly hilarious when Lucas is able to figure out exactly what's happening. He says it's the only thing that makes sense! So, not only is he a whiz kid, the Seaquest apparently has instruments that can read space flight.
I'm mocking the show, not the character Lucas or Jonathan Brandis (rest in peace). He really was the best character on the show.
