Like the previous episode was a spotlight on Angus, this one was on Max. It was okay and kind of low key while advancing the general underlying plots and themes. (I wonder if this is part of the writers going through phases: recently was the Big Plots and now Focus Not Laura) No complaints really. But some of the characters are more interesting than others. Laura is turning almost deranged with her anger at her husband and sister. Don't get me wrong, they deserve it and don't get it but set up the boundaries you want and then make peace with it.
Who knew that I would be routing for Heather. Of course I hope it leads somewhere more obvious than Bob as househusband and Heather as bossy breadwinner. (or Larry Lunchpail and Hattie Housecoat as C Montgomery Burns would call them). I actually enjoyed the barfy jazz at the end. It was serene and piquant. Just kidding I love the trumpet and most forms of jazz.
