According to Martin Lawrence, he performed the same monologue in dress rehearsal and did not receive any complaints from Lorne Michaels. But after viewers complained Lawrence was banned from the show. In his memoir, Jay Mohr also states that Lawrence's monologue was the same.
According to Jay Mohr in his memoir, he and some of the cast members decided to play a prank on Chris Farley during the Matt Foley sketch. After Farley falls out of frame, Mohr, Adam Sandler, David Spade, Rob Schneider, and Tim Meadows piled on top of Farley to prevent him getting back into frame to deliver his final line. But Farley was so strong that he easily pushed the five of them off him and delivered his line on cue.
The bike messenger sketch was originally written for Alec Baldwin for the previous episode but it was cut after dress rehearsal.
During the "Bike Messenger" sketch, David Spade wears the white shirt with MTV logo that he previously wore in the Matt Foley sketch in Christian Slater/Smashing Pumpkins (1993), and was seen being worn by Rob Schneider in "The Tomboy & the Sissy" sketch in Rosie O'Donnell/James Taylor (1993).
