This one is about a crackpot cop who returns to the force after ten years in order to enact revenge on the hoods who shot him in a robbery ten years ago, which forced him to retire. Danko is assigned as his partner.
This is an excellent episode with an interesting and engaging plot, a lot of tension and nice performances by the entire cast.
I really liked Larry Luckinbill's performance as McCall, the demented cop who is looking for revenge. Sam Melville's performance is really strong too. The confrontation between him and McCall at the end is really tense.
There's a nice action scene and shootout at the beginning and at the end. There's also a brief car chase.
Owens is back after being mostly absent from the previous episode. He used the time off to fix his hair and it looks nice once again after looking like a disaster in Johnny Lost His Gun.
Jill has a minor role which mostly consists of providing support and encouragement to Mike. This is a rare episode without any hospital scenes, which means there are no scenes with Jill as a nurse.
One problem I had is in the final scene where Jill and Mike are talking and she says there's a lot of good in McCall and Mike then agrees with her. What on earth are they talking about?? McCall is a deranged lunatic who has committed serious crimes!! What they said is absolutely absurd. Both of them have completely lost their minds here.
This is a superb episode. Season three has been a big improvement over the first two seasons.
