- TriviaGeorge Bassett mentions several real-life baseball players, including Luke Easter whom he correctly identifies as having played for San Diego in 1949. (At the time, San Diego was the minor league affiliate of the Cleveland Indians.) Easter was murdered two months after this episode aired.
- GoofsDuring the opening scene, George is making bets in a bar with a friend as to whether the friend could name baseball players who played for the "LA Angels" in the 40s. The Angels did not exist prior to 1961.
While this is true for the American League's Los Angeles Angels, George was discussing the 1940s AAA Pacific Coast League's Los Angeles Angels, and how good of a club that they were. The PCL Los Angeles Angels existed from 1903-1957, and were one of the best clubs of the PCL. In fact the PCL was so good, that during the 1950s serious thought given to making it a third Major League league (and making it an equal to the National League and American League). What prevented this elevation from AAA to MLB was the relocation of the Dodgers and Giants to California for the 1958 season.
