The disgruntled driver who attempts to run Dennis Becker's car off the road claimed to be a former Malibu cop. However, Malibu's law enforcement is contracted by the L.A. County Sheriff's Department.
In the final chase Jim kicks the transmission into park and the car screeches to a halt with front tires smoking. That is factually incorrect. Slamming the transmission into park at speed would not stop the car, it would only shear off the parking lock pin and make a lot of noise. In some transmissions there is a block out feature that prevents it from going into park at all at speeds over 10 mph.

When Jim enters the La Cita bar the clock above the bar is glowing. When Jim and Junior speak the clock doesn't move/is not lit up. When Jim leaves the clock is glowing again and the second hand moves.
When Becker is at the police station and sees the info on the murdered lady, before cutting to the next scene his picture freezes for about 2 seconds and the voice on the following scene (in Becker's home) begins.
When Dennis Becker and Sgt. Frank Dusenberg are driving, Becker runs a stop sign while casually talking with Dusenberg, blowing right through the intersection for no particular reason without even slowing.
