The house used as Yost's house is the same one used for Zekarian's place in the episode, Guilt (1979). This particular house was repeatedly used in numerous Universal productions, including The Rockford Files (Dwarf in a Helium Hat (1978)), as well as in Quincy M.E. (1976), Columbo (1971) and many others.
When Jim calls the California Tax Board to find out if the Life Extension Foundation is a non-profit, the person who answers is played by Fritzi Burr, who made at least one appearance in every season The Rockford Files aired, always playing a government agency employee who gets into it with Jim.
When Jim's filling out the papers at the hospital, he signs his name as 'James S. Rockford', lists his telephone number as '555-8180' and his driver's license number as 'MZ1047319'.
When the police are questioning the occupants of the truck that rear-ended Jim, one officer says to his partner, "We got a couple of deuces here". A "deuce" is police slang for a drunk driver, one that would have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .10% or higher. The term "deuce" originates in the fact that this reading is a two-digit number (a deuce) and enough to get a conviction at the time (1979). This minimum has since been lowered to .08%.
