While waiting at the real estate office, Rockford says he'll "catch up on his reading," and picks up a Collier's magazines to read. The joke here is that at the time of the show, Collier's had been out of business for twenty years. The particular issue Jim was reading is dated 22 June 1956.

Character actress, Fritzi Burr, makes one of her yearly appearances in this episode, in which she plays the maid at the Lederer house. Usually Ms. Burr's appearances are brief, but memorable, starting in the first season episode, Just by Accident (1975), in which she plays a sarcastic government clerk, with a great poker face.
