Peter Cullen was asked to reprise his role as Optimus Prime for a skit involving Optimus getting prostate cancer. Peter declined because he takes the role of Optimus very seriously.
In 1997, Rachael Leigh Cook was part of the "This Is Your Brain on Drugs" campaign. She starred in a series of public service announcements wherein she smashes food and household items to show the devastating effects of drug use. She reprises her role in one of the sketches, again using a frying pan to show how heroin destroys your life.
The reporter's name, Jerry Poppendaddi, is a play on "cherry poppin' daddy", a jive phrase from an old race record that inspired the name of the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, a ska band that was popular in the United States in the late 1990s.
