- Rowdy Yates: Meanwhile I can't leave you two out here alone.
- Emma Teall: When have women out here ever been anything but alone?
- Wishbone: Oh, I tell you it's wrongful. You think a girl is just a plain ordinary little thing. And then she smiles and she's beautiful all of a sudden.
- Emma Teall: [Rowdy and Emma share a long, lingering kiss] You do that once more, you're gonna have to marry me.
- Rowdy Yates: I never told her, Wish.
- Wishbone: I think maybe you did.
- Rowdy Yates: I could holler from the hills now, she'd never know, not now.
- Wishbone: Well, she knew. Women do. They got a way of knowing before you ever have to open your mouth. Cause they like to be told, they don't need to.
- Rowdy Yates: In a hundred years probably won't be any cattle drive. We got our lives right now, not a hundred years.
- Emma Teall: Anyway, you never even said you'd wanna look twice at me, no matter where or when we were.
- Rowdy Yates: I've already looked twice at you. For what it's worth, I could look some more.
- Emma Teall: For what it's worth.
- [Smoochy kiss]
- Emma Teall: Don't look at me. I'm not near pretty enough.
- Rowdy Yates: You ain't pretty at all. But you'll do just fine.
- Emma Teall: There I was, walking up to the aisle with Mr Yates waiting at the altar and the preacher, and me in my beautiful dress and veil. What do I do? I drop the pitcher of milk right in front of the admiring congregation.
- Wishbone: See those calves?
- Mushy: What calves? Them calves?
- Wishbone: Take 'em out and shoot 'em.
- Mushy: Take 'em out and shoot 'em?
- Wishbone: Right.
- Mushy: Me?
- Wishbone: You.
- Mushy: Mr Wishbone, don't you want me to go down to the stream and get some water?
- Wishbone: Well, are you waiting for those calves to turn into cows?
- Mushy: That's a good idea, Mr Wishbone. I bet that's what would happen if you kept 'em.
- Wishbone: You can't keep calves on a cattle drive. It slows the herd down too much. Anyway there gonna be two or three more calves, maybe tonight. Now be sure you take 'em far enough away so the shots don't spook the herd.
- Rowdy Yates: Better be careful with that thing, you're liable to hit something.
- Emma Teall: If I wanted to, I would have.
- Mushy: You got a ranch?
- Emma Teall: Yeah, a fallen down house, 50 acres of fenced in nothing. Yeah, we got a ranch.
- Cole Wallace: Billy couldna been killed by no woman.
- Emma Teall: Does it hurt your pride that a woman can kill just like a man?
- Cole Wallace: Who's she trying to protect? I'll put my money on you.
- Rowdy Yates: You heard me. Ride out of here.
- Cole Wallace: The odds are a little heavy on your side. Mr Yates, you're dead. The bullet that'll kill you aint caught up with you yet, but it will.
