Bud Turns Heel
Gene Evans plays the jerk Sheriff Royal K. Shaw, who wants to bring in Reed McCuller so he can get a big promotion. McCuller was the big outlaw in that region, and he is played by Pat Conway, who played the Sheriff in "Tombstone Territory" TV series back in the 1950s.
Billy Gray, who played Bud in "Father Knows Best" TV series in the mid 1950s plays the conniving brother of Reed McCuller. Gray wants to kill his own brother so he can take over the outlaw racket.
Rounding out this cast of good TV actors is Karl Swenson and Rayford Barnes as friends of the McCuller's gang. Billy Gray shows his true nature when Swenson asks too many questions.
Gil Favor gets most of the scenes with Pat Conroy, Gene Evans, and Billy Gray. Favor is trying to outsmart Gray and Evans, so he can get his herd through without getting any of his drovers killed.
This is a pretty good episode, with some suspense, some action, and good character development.
