This is one of those episodes where we sort of pull for a murderer. A thirteen year old gets mad at his mother because she won't let him go on a camping trip with friends. They argue and he goes to a safe, gets a gun, and kills her. The issue isn't the murder--it's whether he should be tried as an adult. Helen insists on bringing the more severe charge. In a parallel case, a guy convicted of killing two children, claims he wasn't allowed a lawyer. Eugene gets this case.
