A very rare episode in that (1) there's a jury trial, (2) the case is given to the jury for deliberations, (3) Della testifies at trial, and (4) Perry's client also testifies. Some episodes have one or two of these elements but not all four.
The case is unique in that the murder confession is extracted in a separate trial involving the theft of an oriental artifact by a former client of Perry's, whom he has declined to represent over a conflict of interest with the murder trial's client and Della's potential criminal involvement. Perry is involved in two cases with a former client, an existing client and a possible future client (Della). In the finale, after the murder trial's dismissal, Perry burns the murder trial's jury verdict without opening it.
Actors Keye Luke, Philip Ahn, and James Hong all appeared in this episode. Ten years later they all appeared in The Way of the Tiger, the Sign of the Dragon. (1972), the pilot episode of Kung Fu (1972).
