(at around 17 mins) The framed image on Paul Drake's desk is that of Dick Tracy. The image features a large dedication to Paul Drake by Dick Tracy creator Chester Gould: "To Paul Drake with all our best wishes." This is the second appearance for this unique piece of memorabilia. The first was The Case of the Sulky Girl (1957).
This episode reunites William Hopper and Alix Talton, who earlier co-starred in The Deadly Mantis (1957).
Apparently, Paul Drake keeps his file folders in reverse alphabetical order. After Perry's call, Paul opens the top file cabinet drawer. Starting with a file toward the back, he reads off "Las Palmas", "Las Tunas", "Las Vegas", as he flips through folders moving toward the front of the drawer.
Perry objects that Burger's line of questioning is "immaterial, irrelevant, and incompetent." Perry would go on to use this phrase frequently, but with these three words in reverse order.
Both Peggy McCay and Joe De Santis appeared in The Case Against Brooklyn (1958), released shortly after this episode aired. The film also starred Darren McGavin. McCay and DeSantis did not appear in any scenes together in that film.
