- [Charlie and Claudia arrive home from Mexico and crosses Kirsten carrying a box, leaving the house]
- Kirsten Bennett: [to Claudia] Hi, honey.
- Claudia Salinger: Hi. Maybe I'll... Maybe I'll go unpack.
- [she leaves the room]
- Charlie Salinger: Okay.
- Kirsten Bennett: [to Charlie] I'm sorry. I thought I'd be gone.
- [she rushes to leave]
- Charlie Salinger: No, no, no, no, no.
- [he tries to reach her]
- Charlie Salinger: Don't apologize.
- Kirsten Bennett: [sighs] Where were you?
- Charlie Salinger: We went... I... I took Claudia, you know, to... To Mexico.
- Kirsten Bennett: [saddened] You went? You went, anyway?
- Charlie Salinger: She was having such a hard time dealing with all this, and I had the tickets. I figured, you know, some time together, just...
- Kirsten Bennett: [shocked] Wow, Charlie.
- Charlie Salinger: Don't, please. I've hurt you so much. Please don't be hurt about this too.
- Kirsten Bennett: This is the last box. Maybe I'll stick it in the car and come back and say bye to the kids.
- Charlie Salinger: I'll take it out for you.
- Kirsten Bennett: No. I got it. I wasn't planning on seeing you, anyway.
- [she leaves and closes the door]
- Charlie Salinger: [to Claudia] I gave her these.
- [he picks up a dried bouquet]
- Charlie Salinger: After our first fight. Just tell her she dropped them, okay.
- Claudia Salinger: Okay.
- [she takes the bouquet as Charlie, saddened, goes upstairs]
