Dark Undercurrent
dougdoepke19 June 2014
There's a dark undercurrent running through this entry, comedic though it is. Felix is hired by an obnoxious Albert Books (I'm a happening guy!) to photograph at a mountain lodge. Trouble is Oscar loses Felix's note, so when Felix gets snowbound and doesn't return, the poker buddies think he's dead.

Good ensemble acting by the poker buddies, especially at the police station. There, Speed, Roy, Vinnie, and Murray humorously draw the noose around Oscar's neck for Felix's disappearance. After all, how many times has the big grouch threatened to kill his neat-freak apartment mate. All in all, it's a rather dark subject done in light-hearted Odd Couple style. Then too, what guy wouldn't like to be snowbound with the likes of the two gorgeous models.

(In passing— ironically the featured detective is played by Lloyd Gough, for years one of Hollywood's blacklisted actors.)
