The Persecution and Assassination of Jean Paul Fleischman
Hitchcoc5 March 2024
Thanksgiving in Cicely coincides with the Day of the Dead. The Indian population actually dominates the celebration. Joel starts out by praising Thanksgiving until he gets a certified letter. It says that the powers that be can keep him at his post for another full year. He goes into a childish rant, acting like the most persecuted person on earth. He is rude to patients, he whines to Marilyn, he hides in his offices. He says convicted felons end up with shorter sentences than he has. The parade is a wonderful part of this offering, filled with creativity and excitement. The Bubble guy is back and forth on whether to stay or relocate. Maggie has a thing for him but has no real control over his movements.

I LOVE Northern Exposure! I am so happy it is streaming. The parade is phenomenal. I really like Joel, but he needs to get over his pity party and start enjoying life. This is a once in a lifetime experience. I know that he is young in this series, but he is supposed to be educated and thought provoking.

The Mike character.... I don't care for him. I think that Maggie is attracted to him because he is a man that needs to be "fixed" or taken care of. She is a strong woman. She needs to find an equally strong man.

I love Marilyn. She doesn't have to say much to get her point across. I love her deadpan responses.
