- TriviaThe dedication to John "Yomi" Rothlisberger (1919 - 1993) in the end credits of the episode refers to a resident of the town Roslyn (where the series was filmed) who appeared as an extra in pretty much every episode of the show and with whom the cast and crew of the show had become very friendly over the years.
- GoofsWhen Maggie buys groceries, Ed tells her it will be $14.30. She gives him a $20 bill. He gives her change of two paper bills and some coins. The proper change would have been $5.70. Unless he gave her some small bills and dollar coins, which is doubtful.

He's Gone
Mike has finally been cured (of the world) and decides he needs to go off to join Greenpeace and save the rest of it. He and Maggie have finally come to grips with their relationship. She is so excited. It doesn't matter because he is a unique individual that plays by different rules. He has favor to ask of Joel. Meanwhile, now that Shelly and Holling are married, Shelly asks permission to redecorate. What she does looks like Barbie threw up all over a room. It is absolutely awful. But, of course, she has never grown past the mental age of eighteen--still in high school. This will be interesting. Mike gets tons of attention as he goes off. Joel can't understand why someone with a few loose screws gets all the admiration. Anyway, it is an interesting episode. I thought his role was getting really dull anyway.
