Unkindness
Hitchcoc1 May 2024
This is a painful episode. It is about loss and lack of respect. First of all we have Ed's relationship with that girl. Her dad is the rich guy who can give her anything. He never sees that she is using him to make her father uncomfortable. Ed has integrity but is also rather shortsighted. The Capras are part of a bowling team and he shows his colors again. Once again, lack of respect. He refuses to bowl with her because he's no good at it, but it wouldn't matter to her. He deserves what he gets from her. Finally, once again Chris is so full of himself. He has taken a shine to Maggie, I'm sorry to say. He ends up treating his partner like dirt. I just didn't like this one.

Ed will turn your heart of stone into mush

Warning: Spoilers
Oh my Ed, I dare you not to cry after watching this episode! Although Ed and Heather's romance is only one part of the storyline, it is a gem. My heart broke for Ed over and over again, especially at the end when we see his breakdown with Maurice. And Maurice being sympathetic and sweet? This is something special. I don't like where the Chris and Maggie storyline is heading, but I guess it is to be expected with the show wrapping up its six season run.

During Cicely's competition in a mixed-double bowling invitational, Phil & Michelle seem headed for splitsville; while Chris aims to match-up Maggie w. A compatible partner. Elsewhere, Ed may be dreaming by setting his sights on the sophisticated Heather.
