- Chris sets up Maggie with a bowling partner, then becomes jealous of him; the Capras separate over a dispute about bowling; after being insulted by Maurice, Ed gives him notice & his girlfriend's father offers to fund his movie, The Shaman.—anonymous
- Ed and Heather Haines are getting pretty close to one another at her house when Lester and Maurice walk in on them. Although they quickly pull apart, it does not escape the notice of the two older men. Heather takes Ed clothes shopping. He is astounded by the price tags on some of the items she buys simply by plopping down her daddy's platinum credit card. Ed asks Heather to go steady and gives her his necklace to wear. Later, when Ed is cleaning at Maurice's home, Maurice tells Ed that his relationship will not work out well in the end, that they come from two totally different ends of the socioeconomic scale. This hurts Ed's feelings, so he gives notice that he will no longer work for Maurice. Lester, on the other hand, asks Ed how his film career is going. Ed explains that he has a screenplay out for review, but no one has opted to back it. Lester wants to read it; he's been thinking about investing into that industry. The next day, he agrees to back the film. He does want to change the ending. He indicates that the shaman character and the celebrity he marries is an unrealistic ending since they come from such different ends of the socioeconomic spectrum. Bummer. "I don't want you funding, Lester." It is also time for Cicely to defend its mixed doubles bowling championship. Michelle turns out to be a top-notch bowler while Phil is anything but. He is so unexcited about playing, that he starts saying hurtful things to Michelle, especially when she makes them him-and-her competition shirts. She leaves in a huff, renting the extra room at The Brick. During the bowling tournament, Ed plays along trying to patch up their marriage. Michelle tells him that she needs more time. Meanwhile, Chris is paying no attention to his cute partner. He only has eyes for Maggie all of a sudden. She has a partner that Chris recruited so she would be in the competition, but she is not paying much attention to him either. Chris and Maggie seem twitterpated with each other.—Garon Smith
- During a bowling invitational, Phil and Michelle seem headed for splitsville. Meanwhile, Ed sets his sights on the sophisticated Heather.
