The Usual Judgmental Dick
Hitchcoc4 April 2023
Miss Goddard shows up at the Stratford. It is time for the Poetry and Pastries (not "pasties) competition. The old man who has been judging has died and a new judge is needed. She turns to Dick. She is the perpetual winner of the contest. When Joanna decides to enter, Dick is really mean to her, basically saying she has no talent. They get into a tiff. Joanna decides not to enter, but George reads her poem and enters it at the poetry reading. The poems red are pretty bad, especially the one written by Jim and Chester. Goddard reads a sizzling sexy poem where George has to turn on the fan. It's obvious Joanna's poem is the best, but the townspeople think she plagiarized it. There is a subplot involving a baby shower for Michael, but it is not the least bit interesting.

Dick is a judge for poetry
Jimmy_the_Gent423 July 2018
The town has a contest for poetry and pastries at the library and Dick is chose as the judge.

A very funny episode with good performance by Kathy Kinney as the zaftig but flirty town librarian. She has a funny scene where she recites her hot, heavy breathing poem thinking Dick cannot resist. Chester and Jim have a very funny poetic entry called "Pals" though they don't even use the word pals in it. Joanna wants to enter a poem but the town (including Dick) don't believe she has any talent for it. Michael has a subplot where he wants to throw himself a baby shower while Stephanie is away.
